The community is baffled when the Crypto.com token receives a hashtag from the Twitter brand

The Crypto.com Chain (CRO) token is now the second cryptomon currency to receive an emoji hashtag on Twitter. This follows a similar move for Bitcoin (BTC) in February.

Since Thursday, tweeting the hashtag „#CRO“ automatically adds the Crypto.com logo, similar to tweeting „#Bitcoin“ or „#BTC“.

The company launched a promotional gift campaign in connection with the event.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is very involved with Bitcoin Circuit through his company Square, which is funding a portion of BTC’s development. Traditionally, it has ignored all other crypto currencies, so it is unlikely that another hashtag of crypto currencies will be introduced „organically“.

Cointelegraph contacted Dorsey for more information on emoji hashtags, but did not receive a response.
